Autodesk Expands Project Cooper to Design Enthusiasts Globally
SAN RAFAEL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADSK) has expanded the availability of the Project Cooper Technology Preview, a simple and easy-to-use free* 2D drawing application, on a global basis.
“I’ve needed basic drawing software like this for a long time, but Project Cooper is the first time a tool actually teaches me while I’m drawing”
Project Cooper is a technology preview of simple, 2D drawing software intended for landscape and interior designers, planners and project managers, specialty contractors and homeowners. It requires no training to quickly create accurate drawings, layouts and plans. Since October 2009, thousands of U.S. users have tried Project Cooper to create drawings that help clearly present their ideas.
“I’ve needed basic drawing software like this for a long time, but Project Cooper is the first time a tool actually teaches me while I’m drawing,” said Jana Morris of Affordable Shade. “Now I can capture my ideas visually and present measurements accurately. I can digitally draw an area to scale for the multiple projects and purposes.”
“I used Project Cooper to design my back yard, complete with an outdoor oven, spa, fire ring, cactus garden and caves for my two dogs. I found it to be intuitive and easy to use - in the end it only took me thirty minutes to create the design,” said Steve Meachum, a retired truck driver from Phoenix, Arizona. “Not only was I able to complete my first project quickly and efficiently after watching a few short instructional videos, I had a great time doing it. I’ve used many similar products over the years, but never with such ease, success and satisfaction.”
The preview features basic drawing tools in a fun and intuitive interface, easy to use in-product learning, and a set of drag-and-drop symbols (doors, windows, and more) to make it easier to draw on the computer. Autodesk encourages the public to try Project Cooper and provide feedback. Project Cooper is now available for download in English in all countries throughout the world, with the exception of Japan and countries where U.S. exports are prohibited by law.
